Cleanings & Prevention

The first steps towards a brilliant smile and healthy teeth are simple measures that will protect your oral health.

Regular dental exams are highly recommended. The dentist will give you a comprehensive exam that will detect problems early and keep them from becoming more serious. If left unchecked, dental problems can become more serious and costly for the patient.

At the exam you will be checked for tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and loose fillings and crowns.

X-rays will be taken to detect such things as bone loss, tumors, tooth and root positioning, and decay.

Regular dental cleanings are also very important to preventing dental disease. During these cleanings, our licensed hygienists will remove plaque and tartar build-up from the teeth. Plaque and tartar if left unchecked will lead to gum disease. The teeth will also be polished to remove stains. ARESTIN is often recommended as an adjunct to comprehensive tooth cleaning procedures for reduction of pocket depth in patients with adult periodontitis.

Often during these dental exams sealants and fluorides are recommended to help strengthen the teeth and fight tooth decay and protect the teeth.
