Dr. O’Donnell is a native of Rhode Island, raised in East Providence and subsequently Seekonk MA. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he developed an interest in healthcare as a Biochemistry major. Following a productive early career in basic research, Dr. O’Donnell attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he also enrolled in the doctoral program in Biomedical Science with a concentration in Quantitative Cell Biology.
After graduation From UConn Dr. O’Donnell gained acceptance to the prestigious residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. As a resident, he studied advanced modalities that underlie the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting the head and neck in addition to the oral cavity proper. Since completion of training and satisfaction of the fellowship examination, Dr. O’Donnell has been providing full scope dental care with an emphasis on applying sophisticated methods of clinical and radiology diagnostics as well as understanding oral medicine implications associated with diseases that involve the dentofacial complex.
Dr. O’Donnell is quite familiar with the Town of Barrington having spent years as a boy scout in Toop 2 Barrington. This was an enriching experience that facilitated the development of essential skills and allowed direct contribution to numerous community service projects both locally and statewide. He was involved in many activities and ultimately earned the Eagle Scout Award after demonstrating of several accomplishments and a lifelong commitment to personal growth and assistance to members of his community.
