Tooth Extractions
Tooth extractions are common, so the process for removing the tooth is finely tuned. We are experienced enough to perform this procedure without undue pain on your behalf. We use a local anesthetic to numb the area before we begin. While you will not feel pain during the extraction process, you will feel a tremendous amount of pressure. This is from the process of firmly rocking the tooth to remove it from its socket. If you do feel any pain whatsoever, please let us know, and we can take care of it.
Sometimes, we cannot remove the tooth from the socket, or the root is curved. In that case, we must use a process called sectioning. During sectioning, we cut the tooth into sections and remove each one, one at a time. This is a common procedure in general dentistry and nothing to worry about.
